Toronto dancer, choreographer and creative director, with Latin roots and range from ballet to hip-hop.
Twenty-five years in, still the first one in the room.
Maria Paula started in ballet and spent more than ten years as a soloist. Colombian folklore took her to Mexico City and New York. Latin ballroom competitions across Latin America followed, then the entertainment industry in Bogotá: artists, live events, commercials and a TV show.
Today she performs, choreographs and teaches in Toronto. She cares about giving students the right tools for body and mental maintenance, and about helping them build confidence that lasts past the studio.
She is building a community of dancers she hopes to open doors for, and she works with Latinx artists and the Latin community while staying open to every kind of project.
